Always bring a winter coat with you when visiting New York this time of year and then check the weather reports before you leave on the trip. You may want to pack a fall coat and sweaters as well.

If you have a day try to hit the highlights on or close to 5th Avenue. Might walk from 34 street near Empire State building and then continue along 5th towards St. Patrick's Cathedral, go in briefly, continue walk to Central Park and walk in about 1/4 mile down tree lined path. If time it's worth a visit to 9/11 memorial downtown Manhattan ( not on 5th. Ave.). Check out Eataly on 24 th. Street for a food feast!
