Perplexity, the startup behind the AI “answer” engine, has just launched its own web browser. The browser, called Comet, incorporates Perplexity’s AI search tools and assistant in a way that CEO Aravind Srinivas says “transforms entire browsing sessions into single, seamless interactions.”

San Francisco-based Perplexity on Wednesday made its new artificial intelligence-powered Comet web browser available to its highest-paying Perplexity Max subscribers and some others.

Perplexity AI Inc. today introduced a browser called Comet that uses artificial intelligence to automate manual tasks for users. Comet is based on Chromium, the open-source software engine that underpins Chrome.
