Rep. Eric Swalwell on Tuesday filed a civil lawsuit against Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte, alleging violations of the Privacy Act and First Amendment over Pulte’s referral of him to the Justice Department for alleged mortgage fraud violations.

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) on Thursday confirmed it has launched an investigation into Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Director Bill Pulte, who has opened numerous probes into the mortgage dealings of adversaries of President Trump.
