A high-level panel has been set up to investigate the causes of the Ahmedabad plane crash and the investigation is progressing smoothly, the government said on Saturday. The black box of Air India's Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner plane that crashed on Thursday (June 12) was recovered from the site on Friday evening (June 13).

In a statement shared on social media platform X, Air India said that nine of its Boeing 787 aircraft have already undergone the required safety checks.

Air India confirmed that the safety checks are being performed as the aircraft return to India, before they are cleared for their next scheduled operations. So far, nine Boeing 787 aircraft have undergone inspection,

The crash happened just weeks after the company cut a deal with the U.S. government to avoid taking criminal responsibility for a pair of deadly crashes in 2018 and 2019.
