Lamont Roach Jr. made his opinion of NYSAC not overturning the draw decision of his Gervonta "Tank" Davis fight extremely clear.

The New York State Athletic Commission has given its verdict and decided that the Gervonta Davis vs Lamont Roach draw decision will not be overturned. Roach challenged Davis for the WBA lightweight title on March 1.

Lamont Roach and his team have expressed their feelings after learning the New York State Athletic Commission's (NYSAC) decision on the review of the fight against Gervonta Davis. The NYSAC ruled to uphold the majority draw in his March 1 WBA lightweight title fight against Gervonta Davis.

As Davis holds a WBA title, the WBA sanctioning body has the power to order him to face Roach again, and failure to do so could result in Davis being stripped of his belt. WBA president Gilberto Mendoza indicated to The Ring that he is "poised" to order a second fight between the pair.

A decision has been made on the Gervonta Davis vs. Lamont Roach fight. Davis fought Roach to a majority decision verdict, in a fight that had a lot of controversy due to ‘Tank’ voluntarily taking a knee in the ninth round but no count being given.

Had a knockdown been called, Roach (25-1-2, 10 KOs) would have won via decision, securing the WBA lightweight championship in a major upset. Instead, Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs) retains his title and remains undefeated.

The 30-year-old Davis, who is undefeated and was a heavy favorite, took a knee in the middle of the ninth round before retreating to his corner, where a member of his team wiped his face with a towel.
