Two men died in crashes in West Volusia County on Sunday, including a motorcycle rider from Ocala, the Florida Highway Patrol said. The crash that killed the 68-year-old Ocala motorcyclist occurred at 12:02 p.

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A Volusia County man died Sunday night after crashing his SUV near Pierson. The Florida Highway Patrol said the crash happened shortly after 9 p.m. along US-17 near Nolan Road. Troopers arrived to find a 2004 Nissan Pathfinder on its roof alongside the roadway.

The Florida Highway Patrol said an Ocala motorcyclist was killed in Barberville, and a separate single-vehicle crash in Pierson killed a DeLeon Springs man.

A 55-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Sunday night on U.S. Highway 17 and Little Brown Church Road, according to Florida Highway Patrol. FHP said just after 9 p.m., the man was driving north on the 17 in an SUV when he lost control of the vehicle, crossed southbound lanes and was ejected.
