Brian Schottenheimer hasn’t had much time to reflect since being named the Cowboys head coach. He’s had a staff to assemble, personnel decisions to address and a scouting combine to attend. Still, his life has been pointed to this opportunity.

The new Dallas coach wanted his whole staff in Indy because "things get lost" when everyone isn't in the same place, he said.

More specifically, Dallas needs to get their run game going again. Using a running back by committee of Rico Dowdle, Ezekiel Elliot and Deuce Vaughn, among others, in 2024, the Cowboys ranked just 27th in rushing yards (1,705) and 32nd in rushing touchdowns (six) in 2024.
