JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A new training complex for the Johnson City Fire Department has been in the works since 2022.

Monday marked the first day of the Colorado Springs Fire Department’s 2026 Training Academy, which was originally cancelled.

First responders must always prepare for worst-case scenarios, including emergencies they hope never happen.

Forty-three fire service leaders from across Massachusetts graduated from the 31st class of the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy’s Chief Fire Officer Management Training Program.
