Spain’s weather forecaster issued red alerts for extreme rain, two weeks after deadly floods killed more than 220 people in the coastal region of Valencia.

Schools will be closed on Wednesay after the national weather agency placed parts of Valencia on red alert on Wednesday night, as well as Catalonia in the northeast and Malaga in the southeast.

Schools in flood-hit towns in eastern Spain are closed as the region braces for more torrential rains, officials said.
