Several thunderstorm warnings were issued throughout the Valley as rain and hail pelted metro Phoenix streets on Wednesday afternoon.
A strengthening storm will spread heavy rain and severe thunderstorms from Texas to Missouri, raising the risk for flash flooding, travel disruptions, and damaging winds from later Wednesday to Friday.
Storms will be possible through the day on Monday with the potential for some to turn strong to severe. The best chance for severe weather will be east of I-35, with all modes possible.

More severe storms packing giant hail forecast
More severe thunderstorms, potentially packing dangerous giant hail, are forecast for communities in two states, as a clean-up for the last storm continues.
Heavy rain, thunder, lightning and hail fell as the storms posed a flash flooding risk. They also caused multiple severe thunderstorm warnings to be issued throughout Oklahoma on Wednesday. The storms moved into the Oklahoma City metro around 8-9 p.m., as multiple waves of severe storms moved through central Oklahoma.
West-side residents saw 1-inch hail, brief torrential rainfall and lightning as afternoon turned to evening, according to the National Weather Service. The ceiling of a store at Desert Sky Mall partially collapsed, the Phoenix Fire Department said, severing a water line that caused extensive damage and will close the entire mall indefinitely.
