Southport child murderer Axel Rudakubana has refused to leave his prison cell for a court hearing called to resolve a legal issue. The 18-year-old, who was last month jailed for a minimum of 52 years for the knife attack at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class on 29 July 2024, had been due to appear via video link at Liverpool Crown Court.

Southport killer Axel Rudakubana has been handed a new sentence today to correct a "technical error" in a judge's first ruling.

Axel Rudakubana, who murdered three girls aged between seven and nine last year, was due to appear at Liverpool Crown Court via videolink from Belmarsh Prison.
