Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) is warning of “active attacks” targeting its SharePoint server software, used widely by government agencies and businesses to share documents internally.

A sweeping cyber espionage operation targeting Microsoft server software compromised about 100 organizations as of the weekend, two of the organizations that helped uncover the campaign said.

It was disclosed publicly by researchers at PatchStack vulnerability mitigation service on March 13 and described as an SQL injection issue that impacts affecting WP Automatic versions before 3.9.2.0.
