The New York Police Department arrested 61 females at Columbia University on Wednesday as anti-Israel agitators stormed the Butler Library.

New York City police took 80 people into custody after responding to protests on Columbia's campus, the police department said.

Student protestors took over a room of Columbia University's Butler Library in a resurgence of the on-campus protests against the institution's ties to Israel that rocked the nation last spring and inspired similar protests and encampments at colleges and universities country-wide.
