Kross' contract ended five days later on Aug. 10, just five days after WWE initially reached out to him to offer a new deal to the veteran wrestler. Once in the WWE, Kross had a brief, poorly received run with the brand that ended in a first release from the promotion.

Kross said he received a contract renewal offer last Tuesday. He also noted that his wife, Scarlett Bordeaux, who served as his manager under the pseudonym Scarlett, did not receive a contract renewal.
