Several political leaders across the state have released statements in response to the targeted shootings of two Minnesota State Legislators.

Two Minnesota lawmakers were shot on Saturday, with one dying and the other recovering, in the latest instance of political violence recently. The shooting comes nearly a year after an assassination attempt on Donald Trump in Pennsylvania and follows politically motivated violence that has also targeted top companies.

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI - Oakland County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a 32-year-old Pontiac man in connection with a drive-by shooting on Friday.

BAY POINT — One person died and two others were injured in a shooting Saturday morning in Bay Point, according to the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Department. Officials said deputies found one person suffering from gunshot wounds in a house’s front yard just before 1 a.m. in the 2100 block of Mendocino Drive, a residential neighborhood.

An investigation is underway after a shooting Saturday inside a Hoover restaurant. Officers responded at 1:47 p.m. to Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux on Tattersall Park Drive. Capt. Keith Czeskleba said one person was injured and taken to the hospital in stable condition. The shooting was an isolated incident, Czeskleba said.

Officers responded just after 1:30 a.m. to Prospect Avenue and East 35th Street on a reported shooting. They found four people in a BP gas station parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds, said Sgt. Phil DiMartino, a police spokesman.
