President Donald Trump signed executive actions on Wednesday imposing a 50% tariff on Brazil, a 50% tariff on certain copper products and suspending a tax perk for all countries that allowed cheap packages to fly into the US duty-free.

The Trump administration on July 30 issued an Executive Order that places 50% tariffs on numerous items exported from Brazil in seven days. However, In the official tariff order, the Administration stated civil aircraft, their engines, parts and components and other components and subassemblies are exempt from the levies.

Brazil's government on Friday downplayed the impact of the 50% tariff U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to impose on imports from that country, as leaders from both nations expressed a cautious willingness to negotiate in the future.
