The big news for the Arizona Cardinals and the NFL on Tuesday was the announcement that veteran defensive lineman Calais Campbell agreed to a one-year contract to return to Arizona and play for the team that drafted him. Campbell revealed why he chose to come back to the Cardinals eight years after he left in free agency.

The Cardinals, with the coup of signing Calais Campbell and all of the buzz that comes with it, just took a giant step forward toward meeting their highest 2025 aspirations. Gone from the room are three players that combined to play 41 games with 17 starts in 2024: Roy Lopez (16/16), Khyiris Tonga (13/1) and Naquan Jones (12/0). Lopez is with the Detroit Lions, Tonga with the New England Patriots and Jones with the Los Angeles Chargers.
