Major I-95 cities -- Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Richmond, Virginia -- could be impacted as heavy downpours could bring 2-3 inches of rainfall per hour over already saturated soils, which could easily cause flash flooding.

The National Weather Service has issued more than 3,000 flash flood warnings nationwide so far in 2025, marking the highest number on record for this time of year since tracking began in 1986. And the DMV region is far from exempt.

Camp Mystic's executive director began evacuating campers approximately 45 minutes after the National Weather Service issued a "life-threatening flash flooding" alert.

A flash flood warning has been issued for two Southeast Michigan counties on Wednesday afternoon as storms move through the region.

The death toll has now climbed to at least 132, making it America's deadliest rainfall-driven flash flood since 1976.
