In the latest mock from ESPN's NFL draft guru Mel Kiper Jr., the New York Jets had a surprise as the team ends up landing a quarterback in the first round.

ESPN’s Mel Kiper unveiled his second mock draft at the start of the Scouting Combine. Here’s the cornerback he picked for the Packers.

The New York Jets have a surprise waiting for them in Mel Kiper Jr.s latest mock of the 2025 NFL draft. Following the team's split with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, a large emphasis has been placed on the position this offseason. Adding to that is the Jets not holding a pick at the upcoming draft until No. 7 overall.

In his second mock draft which comes just prior to the NFL scouting combine, ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. has the Cleveland Browns selecting a quarterback.

ESPN's Mel Kiper is the Godfather of NFL mock drafts. When the Godfather speaks, you listen. Kiper recently dropped his latest first-round projection, which feels notable considering the NFL Combine is ongoing. Kiper has the Seahawks selecting University of Alabama interior offensive lineman Tyler Booker with the No. 18 overall selection.

Another day and we have another NFL mock draft with the Denver Broncos selecting Michigan tight end Colston Loveland at No. 20 overall. This time, it’s ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. — the "Godfather of the NFL draft" — in his mock draft 2.0, with Denver attempting to improve upon its abysmal tight end room by adding the 6-foot-5, 245-pound Wolverine.

Shedeur Sanders will receive the most attention going into the NFL Combine. The entire football world is waiting to witness Deion Sanders’ son take over in the bigger leagues. Much fanfare has been generated by Sanders’ landing spot in the upcoming draft as well.

ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr., however, is no longer one of those people. In his latest mock draft that dropped on Tuesday morning, the longtime draft analyst has Sanders falling all the way to the New York Jets at No. 7. In his previous mock draft back in January, Kiper had Sanders going to the New York Giants at No. 3.
