The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting strong winds from Tropical Cyclone Alfred will develop today, with the storm likely to hit north of Brisbane sometime tomorrow.

More than 4 million people are in the firing line of Tropical Cyclone Alfred as it tracks towards the south-east Queensland and northern NSW coast. About 20,000 homes in Brisbane alone are at risk of storm surge and flooding impacts associated with the system.

Residents in southeast Queensland and northern New South Wales are bracing for Tropical Cyclone Alfred, which is expected to make landfall later this week, bringing heavy rain, destructive winds, and dangerous surf conditions.
