Pakistani officials have welcomed the U.S. State Department's decision to designate the separatist Balochistan Liberation Army as a foreign terrorist organization.

The BLA, seeking independence for Pakistan's resource-rich Balochistan province, has claimed responsibility for multiple attacks over the years.

The US designated the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and its Majeed Brigade as Foreign Terrorist Organizations due to deadly attacks since 2019.
