In her inaugural speech at County Administration Center’s west lawn, the District 1 representative said she is “ready to lead” on pressing issues ranging from the South Bay sewage crisis to more housing.

Paloma Aguirre, who most recently served as mayor of Imperial Beach, was sworn in during a morning ceremony on Tuesday at the County Administration Center. In a speech at times in English and Spanish, Aguirre said voters made a choice for a “county government where the focus is on working people, not the wealthy and well-connected.”

Imperial Beach Mayor Paloma Aguirre is being sworn in Tuesday as the District 1 Supervisor on the County Board of Supervisors.
