President Donald Trump, the WWE, and more offered tributes to the sports and entertainment icon who died at age 71.

Hogan, who made his name as the star of WCW and the WWE, before a brief spell in the Hollywood movie scene, was reportingly working with the sports entertainment giant on an unannounced project. It was intended to chronicle his storied career and controversial life inside and outside of the ring.

To some, Hogan was a campy cartoon superhero come to life. He sprung off television screens to T-shirts and action figures and lunch boxes, so popular in the 1980s and ‘90s that Make-A-Wish sent him to visit 20 sick kids per week.
