Riverside County authorities confirmed Wednesday that they removed a 2-year-old child from the Haro home after Emmanuel was reported missing, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. The removal is another twist in an already complicated case.

Despite statements from law enforcement, the parents of a missing 7-month-old boy from Yucaipa are cooperating with the investigation, an attorney for the baby’s father said Tuesday, Aug. 19.

The baby is at a high risk of being neglected, according to police.

Jake Haro had blamed a former wife for the broken bones suffered by a different infant in 2018; both spouses went to jail, however.

“Mom and dad have made themselves available to law enforcement throughout the investigation,” Hughes said.
