An RAF Chinook was involved in enhancing coastal habitats for birds this week, by delivering 55 tonnes of shingle to Pewitt Island in Portsmouth Harbour. The island, which is managed by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, is an important wildlife breeding and roosting spot for Gulls, Terns and other migratory sea birds.
