Los mantíspidos o falsas mantis como Climaciella brunnea (Neuroptera: Mantispidae) son insectos delicados y delgados de pequeña talla. Con sus rayas amarillas y marrones, su cabeza triangular y sus patas delanteras prensiles, parecen una cruza entre una mantis religiosa y una avispa papelera. Pertenecen al Orden Neuroptera, que incluye a las crisopas y a las hormigas león.
