SNAP (BARTOK) PIZZICATO Snap pizzicato, also known as "snap pizz" or "snapping pizzicato," is a playing technique used in string instruments. It is also known as the Bartok pizz, named after the Hungarian composer Béla Bartók, who popularized its use in his compositions. Snap pizzicato is notated as a circle with a line, where the line comes inside the top of the circle. It is distinct from the thumb position symbol, where the line does not come inside the circle and is placed below the circle.
