“Cutes All… Cuddles Us”! #Quetzalcoatlus in his it’s glory at the @azmnh Arizona Museum of Natural History. Towering over everything in the museum (other than Camarasaurus of course) this largest of flying creatures is now often interpreted to be akin to a giraffe-sized stork! Stomping about on massive knuckles, wings tucked in, using its height to spot prey then spearing them with its massive beak, a Kaiju if there ever was one! Quetzalcoatlus was named in 1975 by Lawson named after the feather

Acrocanthosaurus lived and hunted in what is now the American Southwest 100 million years ago in the middle Cretaceous Period. It is among the most enormous meat-eating dinosaurs ever discovered. Acrocanthosaurus was at least 38 feet long and weighed an immense 12,000 pounds. When you visit AZMNH, one of the first things you are greeted by is a life-size sculpture of Acrocanthosaurus bursting from the side of the building. It's just a hint of what you'll find once you come inside! | Arizona Muse

Stangerochampsa, the ancient alligatoroid with crushing teeth! This prehistoric relative of modern alligators had short, button-like teeth perfect for cracking hard-shelled prey like turtles and mollusks. Crocodilians have been around for over 200 million years, and by about 85 million years ago, alligatoroids like Stangerochampsa were already making their mark. | Arizona Museum of Natural History

It's fun to get hands-on at the museum. One of the most popular activities is the Gold Panning Courtyard. We can't put real gold in there, but we make sure you'll find something sparkly and fabulous to take home with you. Gold panning is a part of Arizona's history and natural history. Give it a try on your next visit to AZMNH. | Arizona Museum of Natural History

This is Leopold. If you've been to AZMNH, you've already met. Leopold is a Gila Monster, the only venomous lizard species native to the United States of America. They grow almost two feet long, have a venom gland for each of their 40 teeth, and have a powerful bite. The scales on the top of its body contain little bones known as osteoderms. The underside lacks osteoderms. The venom is dangerous to humans, and these protected lizards should be avoided in the wild. Here at AZMNH, Leopold won't min

"At the AZMNH we believe in intentional acts of kindness. These are often small things done with the heartfelt intent of making a difference. A smile, a greeting, a conversation, or finding what we have in common with someone, may be all that is required to provide a little healing in the world. When we focus on the person standing in front of us, the one person we really can reach, we demonstrate the essence of World Kindness Day." - Simon Tipene Adlam, AZMNH Director #worldkindessday | Arizona
