Could it be considered a collective art work? Seattle’s Gum Wall is one of the city’s quirkiest (and stickiest) landmarks. It’s located in Post Alley, right next to Pike Place Market. • The wall is covered with thousands of pieces of chewed gum, pressed onto the brick surface by visitors since the early 1990s. • It started when people waiting for shows at the nearby theater stuck gum on the wall; theater workers tried scraping it off at first, but eventually gave up and it became an attraction.
