The Ada County Highway District is removing the storied cattle guard on the road up to Bogus Basin, which (as the story goes) is home to a beloved troll who keeps you safe on the mountain. While the cattle guard is gone, road crews say they are simply giving the troll's home an upgrade. "Bro, your mountain is on fire." Tamarack Resort president Scott Turlington says he found out about the Rock Fire from a friend's text message. But thanks to wildland firefighters, the mountain avoided serious damage. Now, resort officials are looking forward to pristine glade skiing on newly added terrain for the 25/26 ski season.
