I have been privileged to call the indomitable and luminous artist Sandhya ji — Chotti Aai, my youngest Nani. My grandmother Vimal Shantaram was the eldest and my grandfather V. Shantaram’s first wife. From my mother Madhura Pandit Jasraj, I learnt so much about Sandhya ji’s artistry, dedication, and sacrifices. She was not only Papa’s (as we lovingly called V. Shantaram) life partner but also his creative consort, bringing alive his artistic vision in timeless classics like: Do Aankhein Barah H
