A vast clean-up operation has been launched along one of Britain’s best-known beaches after huge quantities of plastic beads were washed in from the sea. A diver captured the moment a scallop managed to avoid being captured for an 11-armed sea star’s next meal. Jules Casey was diving in Victoria, Australia’s Port Phillip Bay, when she said she saw the starfish slowly creep toward the scallop. “As the starfish began to touch the scallop, the scallop reacted by pumping its shell,” she said. “The scallop eventually broke free and swam a short distance to safety.” | CBS News
