Russia Ukraine War: The Wagner Group is essentially a network of contractors that supplies soldiers for hire. It is headed by Yevgeny Prigozhin who was earlier a jailbird and a caterer. The mercenary organisation came into existence in 2014, during Russia's annexation of Crimea.
